world marching band competition 2007 was held in stadium merdeka, kuala lumpur. such an international event yet if you look closely you would realise that the dates are wrong.the finals was on the 15.12.07 not 16.12.07 but oh well..malaysia's kan? sure got mistakes here and there..

as this was an international competition, many would expect many different countries to come and compete but do not be fool, there were only a mere 5 countries that participated mainly from Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Brunei and South Africa. Germany was invited to perform a fanfare and a short performance. anyway to participate u pay a lot and u win a lot too..everything is in USD..

anyway 5 malaysian band took the opportunity to participate and show their "real" talent which include colour guards and pit percussions which until now local band competition has yet to recognise this two component. VICB - first band in malaysia to take part in this competition since the 90s has had quite a reputation where they always brought back GOLD and to the malaysian crowd was a good achievement. However this year's attention was not towards VI but Sultanah Asma from Kedah. They are all girls school and were the national champion this year. so with no doubt they performed their very best and got not only GOLD but also the best horn line and overall 2nd place. asma proved that even without both component u can still beat other asses. Oh they were also first timers in this competition. so towards those ppl who thinks only VI is the best.. *cough cough* think again..but no hard feelings..you guys have been trying since forever..

well i went with shermie..and we bump into chui ling and keng zhi so eventually we sat together and gossip about how this band is good and that band is bad..but to our senses..malaysia's band is really far beyond from international standard.. they good ones were really good..full of power and energy..really like one from thailand which i thought did better than VI but then only got 5th..VI on the other hand got 4th..argh...anyway 1st went to thailand..check out Bodindecha on youtube..3rd went to Pupuk Kaltim from Indonesia..

oh..it was suppose to be a sold out crowd..but then false alarm i tell you..the stadium was only like 30% full..what a cheat..haih..malaysian are malaysian..buat apa pun tak success..and one row of seats were suppose to have only 5 people..but end up one row like 10 people..ISH.. u know who they are..so terrible la..ai yo..wanna organize stuff also so retarded..

overall i'm glad i went to watch some international band..so not so ULU..but i didnt like the organizing committee at all..the management..the production team..ish..retarded..

i would wanna see japan/usa's band competition in the future or better still when are they come to malaysia? hmmmm..but i dun think they wanna come..after this review..LOL..so that's about it people..i have no more activities for this month..any interesting stuff happening do call me..
